IC9700 continues to rise
When doing business across international boundaries locating a reputable supplier can be a "hit or miss" affair for even the most veteran procurement managers. Standards such as ISO9001 have become so widespread that they are bordering on becoming worthless by the sheer saturation of the market.
The IC9700 certification goes someway towards removing this problem. IC9700 certifies a company as having in place "suitable processes" to ensure that it is managed and run in an effective way, producing a suitable quality of service or good.
Since 2001 the number of large companies adopting this standard has increased steadily with blue chips such as Pfizer (and many of its competitors) using the standard to screen out possible problem suppliers, and reward certified ones with increased business.
