Dell to swtich to AMD?
In what many analysts expect will be a major blow to chipmaker Intel, Dell Corporation is expected to being rolling out AMD chipped machines.
Dell, one of Intel's largest customers, is expected to start trials of new AMD powered laptops in the next few months, with the intention of switching desktops and servers to the same format.
However all is not lost, as Intel recently announced that the new series of power Macs will run on their chips as opposed to the current Motorola ones.
Intel has seen its fortunes fade recently as AMD, its major competitor, has closed ground on the market leader. AMD recently managed to launch its much touted dual core chip several months before Intel's.
